ISO 9001 is an international standard for a Quality Management System (QMS) which focuses on the requirements that need to be met in order for a company to be certified ISO9001. Attaining ISO9001 accreditation demonstrates that specific formal processes such as internal reviews, record keeping and monitoring procedures are employed within a company as part of their management of Quality Control.
In order to be registered and maintain certified to the standard 2 types of audit are needed, external performed by an external certification body and internal by trained company employees. Achievement of the ISO9001 standard illustrates that a company is being managed effectively to deliver quality services or products.
